  • Quantity Surveying opportunities available for social housing new build and refurbishment projects around the Walsall, Wolverhampton and Herefordshire area. This particular contractor’s business is almost exclusively devoted to the social housing sector. They have a turnover of £420 million through long-term partnering framework deals with both existing and new clients. The division has a forward order book of £1.5 billion going into 2010. They have a number of commercial opportunities but are specifically looking for individuals who are experienced within the Social Housing sector. This includes working on refurbishment and social housing schemes through frameworks agreements and partnering schemes. This is a brand new position within the existing bid team which will see the creation of a new preconstruction team to cover West Midlands new build and refurbishment, East Midlands, South West and South Wales. The core skills needed for this role are knowledge of opportunity and risk management including value creation. Previous ownership and management of a design, planning and estimating team. The ability to present bids for sign off to the main board, deal with any settlements which arise and ultimately win work for the business. The desired individual will ultimately be responsible for a £60m business unit. Projects are a mixture of PFI extra care homes, new build social housing up to and over 200 units and decent home framework contracts.
