- Commercial Manager – Shropshire
Our Client is seeking a commercial manager to work on a major water sector framework contract. They are seeking a candidate who is an experienced leader and can manage a programme of works with a good range of civils experience/
Duties would include: Working closely with other senior members of the Management Team to deliver a programme of works, close liaison with clients, establishing and maintaining a financial forecasting regime; reporting on the financial and contractual performance of individual projects and the performance of the Framework as a whole including the management an development of the subcontract supply chain within the Framework
In addition, you will manage, lead, develop and motivate a team which includes Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors and ensure there is effective communication with customers and colleagues regarding any commercial and supply chain issues.
Applicants should have a strong track record in Commercial Management with experience of dealing with a programme of multiple contracts worth collectively in the region of £50 million per annum and have a solid civils back ground.

Our client is a multi-national, multi-disciplined contractor. Their construction division has secured a vast amount of educational work in Birmingham. They have a requirement for a Senior Cost Planner. As the Cost Planner you will be responsible for front end cost planning, working directly with external / internal clients, managing other cost planners where necessary and managing the cost planning function from inception to presentation to the main board, being accountable and responsible for all aspects of the bid.
Key Tasks would include:
Development of Cost Plan
Management of Design to Costs
Bid Management
Presentation of Bid to Exec Team
Measurements / Quantification
Accountability for Financial aspects of the Bid
On-site Validation of Procurement and Design Development
Experience:
Extensive front end experience of cost planning / budgets / feasibility pricing
Experience of large commercial construction, project values in excess of £50m
Extensive knowledge of the Birmingham City area with regard to supply chain, consultant firms, local sectors, contacts
Detailed understanding of he construction process
Experience of the tendering process and the effects of time on bids

They are looking for a Senior Estimator to be based out of their Head Office in Warwickshire where you will be part of a successful team working on tenders throughout the Utilities industry. You will report directly to the head of Estimating and will be responsible for individual projects and framework agreements throughout the UK. Duties will include, preparing accurate clearly defined tenders with a security of achieving or exceeding tendered profit levels. Maintaining a comprehensive and up to date knowledge base of cost indices, and to ensure that systems and procedures are continuously reviewed and improved. Building long term industry relationships and ensure that the department provides a professional responsive point of client contact.
Depending on experience you will be paid a basic salary up to £50,000 plus an attractive package. Our client is keen to employ experienced and reliable management staff and for the right candidate the chance of progression is obtainable.
