PSR Golf Day: The Importance of Client Relationship

14 Jun 2018

The PSR Golf Day is an opportunity for staff of PSR to further strengthen their relationships with previous and current clients. It also allows both PSR and the clients in attendance to build new starting blocks for potential new work in the near future.

Attention to detail and striving for the highest standards is what motivates PSR daily, which is why Edgbaston Golf Club was selected for this year’s annual meet. Located just outside the centre of the UK’s ‘second city’, Birmingham is home to a luxury 18-hole golf course, designed by H.S. Colt which is a foolproof way to mix business and pleasure in a relaxing environment.

PSR has thirteen years’ experience of creating ties with the heavyweights of the construction industry and the golf day is the perfect day to reward staff and clients for all their hard work.

Upon arrival, all golfers registered and began the day with a light lunch, which was followed by a briefing explaining the variety of prizes on offer. The team with the best overall scorecard would win a trio of prizes, with various other individual rewards on offer for the straightest drive, longest drive, two nearest the pin contests and finally the champagne putting.

With the focus of every competitor now being on the six prizes, the 1:30pm shotgun start saw the teams vary in their degree of success around the glorious 18-hole Edgbaston course. The enduring days results would all be revealed in the prize giving after the jacket and collar meal.

A relaxing meal enjoyed by 72 golfers led onto David Berks speaking about the exciting updates within PSR including the significant hires of Max Holloway (Trades & Labour Director) and Chris Bell (International Director).

John Berks followed by beginning the prize-giving for the 6 prizes.

The Edgbaston course produced a tightly battled round, which saw the winners of Alex Howard, Steve Wilkes and Chris Gibbs win by a mere two points from Scott Marsh, John Berks, Mark Frost and Andy Chambers (pictured below). The PSR Golf Day winners received PSR branded shoe bags and caps as well as a bottle of champagne each and the runners up all received belts and a bottle of champagne.
