PSR opens new office in Sheffield!

PSR furthers it's presence in the Sheffield area with a new office launch.

Following a two-year vision to extend our quality construction recruitment services further north, PSR have appointed an ambitious team to drive the business forward from office number three of six as set out in our 10-year plan to take the business to £100m turnover.

Opening a new office for any business is an exciting but lengthy process and something that shouldn’t be done without careful planning and consideration. Therefore, we offer some of our experiences below as to the most important considerations when opening a new office.

The Location

Opening offices in different regions is not just about a growing headcount at PSR. Offices allow the local team of consultants to be ‘in the mix’ when dealing with our industry-leading clients, giving our candidates the best opportunities available. Our teams are pro-active when dealing with candidates and need to be on the front-line to get a real feel for the business / people to ensure that we are matching the right construction professionals to the right opportunities.

Our Sheffield city-centre team is based in an attractive office equipped with some of the best technology and support systems in the industry. We will be using this office to set our foundations in the Yorkshire market and look to grow the team in-line with industry demand. With the support from our Head Office in the Midlands, Sheffield is on track for big things moving forward.

The People

A successful team requires the right people. PSR has invested heavily in developing staff and we now have a dedicated People Development programme. PSR had two options when considering this factor. Employ an external Recruitment Manager that has experience in Yorkshire and build a fresh team to head up the office… Or develop the region internally with a trusted few and give them the opportunity to champion this exciting new chapter for the business. Easy choice if you ask us…

Two years ago, we appointed David Pearson, an experienced Construction and Civil Engineering Recruiter as Principal Consultant to grow our accounts in the Yorkshire region. As our business developed, we identified Yorkshire and specifically Sheffield, as a hidden gem in terms of the business opportunities and talent pool available in the area to service the construction industry.
