About the Role

A leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to lead the pre-construction phase of major projects, with a strong focus on the industrial construction sector. You will be responsible for bid strategy, design leadership, value engineering, procurement planning, and client engagement on high-value schemes across the UK.

This role is based in Kettering, supporting an exceptional pipeline of projects including logistics facilities, distribution centres, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and complex industrial builds.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activity from concept through to contract award

• Develop and manage bid strategy, tender programmes, and delivery methodologies

• Oversee design development, technical reviews, buildability, and feasibility

• Drive value engineering, innovation, and risk identification/mitigation

• Coordinate internal teams, consultants, and supply chain partners

• Lead procurement strategy and early contractor engagement

• Produce compelling client proposals, presentations, and tender submissions

• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

• Support business growth through repeat work and bid success

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior pre-construction / bid / design / tender leadership role

• Ability to lead complex, high-value multidisciplinary tender submissions

• Strong commercial awareness (procurement, contracts, risk, programme)

• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills

• Construction-related degree or professional qualification desirable

• Industrial sector experience preferred, but not essential

• Industrial experience preferred

Industrial Sector Experience

While a strong pre-construction background is essential, industrial sector experience is preferred, and industrial project delivery exposure is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in industrial tenders, logistics, manufacturing or warehousing environments will have a distinct advantage.
