Both organisations are market leaders in high-speed rail delivery, tunnelling, bridge construction, civil engineering, offsite manufacturing and digital engineering.

This JV have been awarded a number of High Value packages for High Speed Two. Delivering the essential early works will include archaeology, site clearance and setting up construction compounds - ahead of the start of the main civil engineering work.



Your Next Role

To provide safe, practical and economic designs to a high standard of professional competence in line with HS2 expectations and in compliance with JV procedures. To effectively manage the relationship and performance of the JV retained design partner.



Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Contribute to the production of the Design and Procurement Programme by the planning and resourcing function. Identify and agree the design deliverables required and ensure effective processes are in place for reporting design progress
  • Ensure information flow, including RFIs/TQs is maintained to all relevant parties and that comments / approvals are received and returned to document / query originator within the specified comments / approval periods. Ensure issues such as coordination and package interfaces are being addressed and that each party is amending their work as the design progresses
  • Contribute to the procurement process, including scope definitions and agree and expedite the design team's package deliverables. Review returns for compliance, buildability, quality and value engineering opportunities
  • Ensure design information is reviewed before it is issued to achieve compliance with HS2, the JV & Statutory requirements. Ensure appropriate, timely arrangements for obtaining Client, statutory approvals (incl. discharge) and other necessary approvals with retention by the JV of relevant documentation
  • Ensure critical quality and tolerance issues are identified to the construction package managers as installation progresses
  • Expedite designers and trade contractors contributions to the project Health & Safety file / Operation & Maintenance Manuals
