Position Assistant Design Manager

Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 + Car Allowance + Package / Bonus

My client is seeking a site based Assistant Design Manager to work on a £50m scheme in Manchester. The organisation is a National Main Building contractor who has a reputation in delivering high quality schemes ranging from £5M to £50M.

The company carry out work across all sectors; however, their reputation is strong in the sectors of Commercial, Student Accommodation, Retail and Education.



Duties
  • Responsible for all incoming and outgoing correspondence relating to both the design and structure of the project i.e. Drawing Transmittals, IRS' (Information Request Schedules)
  • Management of the 4Projects System - ensuring that all information is up to date
  • Distribution of such drawings to subcontractors on a daily basis
  • Making sure the site ran smoothly from an administrative perspective
  • Production of meeting minutes/reports
  • Updating site charts and information
  • Proven design coordinating skills
  • Coordination of design teams including architects, engineers, sub-contractors and other consultants
  • Identifying risks and opportunities during the early stages of projects to maximize quality and value
  • Building close relationships with local authorities and Statutory Services
  • Assistance with chairing design team meetings and managing progress including issuing minutes
  • Control design processes
  • Commercial awareness and control on site
  • Experience of working with BIM or understanding of the software would be an advantage, but not a prerequisite for the position
  • Awareness of programme constraints and driving works to meet targets
