The CompanyMy client are the UK's leading multi-functional contractor, there wide breadth of services include waterproofing, strengthening, insulation and repair services across the built environment. Due to continued growth my client is looking to appoint a Bid Manager based in Worcester to raise the standards of submissions produced and manage a small team.
The RoleThe successful Bid Manager will be reporting to the Bid Director and tasked with the following:
- Understand and Analyse Competitors
- Develop and manage the Bid Plan for ITT and PQQ submissions
- Analyse tender documents and research the specific client to develop targeted proposals that meet the client's needs and aspirations
- Write ITT Quality and PQQ responses to produce market leading final proposals
- To be responsible for clear, concise and well written proposals
- To be responsible for always meeting agreed timescales in the Bid Plan
- Produce case studies and method statements as needed
- To be responsible for effective communication between the client and company throughout the bid process
- To liaise with the commercial team in the development of the Price Proposals and be responsible for the production of the final price document(s)
- To be responsible for the completion of all compliant and variable bid documents, liaising sourcing input from other Managers as required
- Clear communications with the Chief Estimator and Pricing teams.
- Management of a small team.
The Candidate Proven background of within Civil Engineering & Relevant Qualification
Experience in producing submissions for Local Authorities and Highways England.
Experience in the production of multiple PQQ's ranging in values between £500,000 - £10m.
Proven track record in an area bid management or associated role
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a bid team

- Manage, write and prepare pre-qualification submissions
- Manage Tender Submissions
- Write and produce Tender Quality Submissions (Quality question responses, technical responses, Tender Stage Method Statements etc.)
- Managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Producing and delivering high quality presentations for marketing, prequalification and tender purposes
- Assist with public relations, advertising programs, corporate identity development and implementation, special events and market research activities
- Liaison with estimating team during tender (but not responsible for actual pricing of tenders)
- Obtain feedback on tender submissions and implement improvements
- Represent the company with clients, the public and the wider construction industry
Skill Set- High standard of writing for Technical Submissions
- Excellent grammar and language skills
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint mandatory)
- Performs well in a team environment
- Excellent knowledge of marketing fundamentals
- In depth understanding of construction industry terminology and delivery methods
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise
- Able to work to strict deadlines
