Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Writing high-quality customer focused proposal documents, including producing, coordinating, editing and proofing written content

Working alongside the Bid Manager to produce answer plans in line with the question, scoring and document detail. Highlighting relevant evidence, images and graphics

Writing draft responses from the answer plan within review deadlines

Amending responses based on review feedback

Responsible for proof reading final material and providing technical and commercial writing skills where required

Ensuring all writing is prepared in line with tender programme requirements

Ensuring submissions are produced are to the highest quality and aligned with company bid management standards

Contributing to the bid team at key stages of individual tender projects, gathering technical information from internal departments in order to compile and ensure a high quality bespoke solution is offered to the client

Assisting with development of bespoke proposals, best practice information, technique guides; template answers and style sheets

Collecting and writing evidence from projects, including site visits and case study development

Building and developing relationships with a variety of business sector team

Being involved in the wider submissions process as required

To successfully respond to OJEU notices, frameworks, invitations to tender and development bids through the production of high quality PQQ's, ITT submissions and bid documents that are tailored to suit the specific requirements of the enquiry from our clients.

To enhance the profile and reputation to ensure new business opportunities.

To work as part of a structured Business Development team and assist in the production of supplementary marketing documentation to illustrate the capabilities.

To keep abreast of any market opportunities and strategies that need to be recognised and pursued by the business as part of out bid and tender submission strategies.

To work as part of a structured team to initiate new strategies within out bid and tender submissions in response to the demands of the private and affordable housing markets.


To recognise our clients needs within both the Private and social housing markets and use this insight when preparing bids and tender submissions in order to achieve successful outcomes.

To be creative and original in thinking, in order to develop innovative, commercial solutions.

Alongside the Bid Manager and Bid Coordinator prepare concise documents that look attractive, deliver the message and win the bid.

Alongside the Bid Manager and Bid Coordinator prepare and make presentations to key clients, developing strong relationships and be seen as credible member of a professional team, having the technical ability to support the bid.

To liaise with Business Development department, Construction Managers, Design Coordinators, Estimators and Buyers to develop successful bid and tender responses.

Experience And Qualifications:

Preferably degree qualified in a subject with a high focus on creating high quality written work

Industry specific knowledge of Bid Writing within the residential construction market

Proven track record in the sector or similar role, preferably with a main contractor

Exceptional writing, editing, and copy-writing skills

Excellent English language (vocabulary), grammar and communication skills

Be a team player and able to work as part of a large and growing team, but also self-disciplined to alone when required

Willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK on occasion

Adaptable to deal with changing project requirements and deadlines

Familiarity with Microsoft and other desktop publishing software packages/ InDesign

Flexibility to meet time pressures and deadlines to deliver high quality submissions on time

Excellent organisational skills

A naturally inquisitive nature to challenge ideas and provide new innovative solutions

Display a creative flair in their writing and ensuring high standards of accuracy and document control
