Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bid Writer to join an extremely successful Gloucestershire based main building Contractor.

The pre-construction team is a busy and very successful department in a very successful firm. They work on a diverse range of projects utilising all methods of construction and cutting edge IT to give the client more of what they want and at a more competitive price, culminating in a win ratio that rivals any contractor. They are a profitable, growing business with repeat clients stretching back for years.

The role is of course about writing and coordinating the Bid, from evaluating the initial enquiry with the head of estimating and getting it onto the system to going with the bid team to meet the client with the final bid.

The key to being a good Bid Writer is the use of your imagination but is also down to your ability to build relationships, both internally with the estimator, the design team, the commercial team etc. to dealing with the client's representatives and the subcontractors tendering for work on the project.

We are looking for somebody with experience of working in the estimating/ pre-construction team working on bids for projects in the construction industry. If you have that experience and a willingness to work hard then they have the support and training to do the rest.

As well as a great place to work there is also a highly competitive salary of up to £35,000 plus package,

Summary of duties
  • Prepare pre-qualification submission documents from existing company resources and by creating new written material
  • Prepare tender submission documents as part of bid team, co-ordinating contributions by others, creating new material and utilising existing company resources
  • Co-ordinate creation of company articles and post on website/LinkedIn
  • Administer and update leads list, with information provided by team
  • Administer company resources including CV's project data sheets, past submissions, references, photos
  • Liaise with external marketing provider for guidance


IT usual and In-design (or similar), Wordpress useful but training could be provided, writing, communication, creative


Within daily commute of Cheltenham

Reporting to bid manager, working with bid manager, estimators and other work winning professionals.
