Quantity Surveyor

About Us:

We are currently recruiting for a top-tier specialist sub-contractor, recognised for delivering outstanding facade, cladding, and external envelope solutions on high-profile projects across the UK. Their expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence have made them the exclusive partner of a Tier 1 contractor and other prestigious developers. They are now looking to expand their commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor based in Birmingham.

Role Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the financial management of our facade projects, ensuring commercial success and project profitability. You will be responsible for overseeing project costs, contracts, and commercial risk, working closely with project managers, clients, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full commercial management of facade packages from tender through to final account

• Prepare accurate cost plans, budgets, and valuations

• Procure and manage subcontractor packages

• Administer contracts and manage variations and claims

• Conduct regular site visits and manage commercial reporting

• Monitor project cash flow, forecasting, and profitability

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers

• Assist in dispute resolution and claims preparation when necessary

• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company procedures

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years' QS experience, preferably with a facade, cladding, or external envelope specialist

• Strong knowledge of various facade systems (e.g., rainscreen, curtain walling, SFS, render)

• Familiarity with JCT and NEC contract forms

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills

• Commercially astute with strong attention to detail

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

• Based in or willing to commute to Birmingham; some travel to project sites required
