Site Manager - Education Refurbishment Project (Portsmouth)
Pay: Up to £300 per day
Location: Portsmouth
Start Date: Mid January 2026
Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead an education refurbishment project in Portsmouth starting mid‑January. This role is ideal for someone confident managing refurb works in live or sensitive environments, with a strong eye for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations on an education refurb project
- Coordinate subcontractors and labour to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain strong health & safety standards across the site
- Manage programme, quality checks, and site documentation
- Liaise closely with project managers, clients, and school representatives
- Ensure all works are completed with minimal disruption to the setting
Requirements
- Proven Site Management experience on refurbishment or education‑sector projects
- SMSTS qualification
- CSCS Manager Card
- Solid understanding of health & safety regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a live environment
- Right to work in the UK
