This is an exciting, immediate opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Assistant, to work with an established Tier 1 Contractor within the UK & International Infrastructure market on a major project close out.
We are looking for the ideal candidate to have experience of working in the utilities or infrastructure sectors, and experience of working on NEC contracts.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of interim applications, including works executed, materials on site and works by subcontractors is submitted to the Client's team by agreed deadline.
- Assist with contract variations and help evaluate and measure these with the Senior Quantity Surveyors.
- Generating payments and distribute notices to suppliers and subcontractors, including the measurement of works and differences executed to evaluate final costs and accounts.
- Contribute to the submission of weekly financial forecasting including the assembling of contract costs.
- Commercial and contractual administration, including various daily reports, paying subcontractors, ensuring contracts are being adhered too and generally monitoring and reporting Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management, or relevant degree and experience.
- Experience of administering NEC contracts.
- Previous utilities or infrastructure sector experience from a contractor or consultancy background.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience and comfortable working on site measuring works.
- Fully IT literate, with Excel skills essential.
