Our client is the specialist rail contracting division of a privately owned, £1.5 billion construction company, with over 150 years' experience within international construction and civil engineering.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor from a rail infrastructure background, with experience delivering projects and packages of work between £2 - £3 million.
Based out of their Kent office on a hybrid basis, you will work alongside the Project Director and wider commercial and construction team, to ensure successful project delivery, whilst maximising commercial returns and managing risk.
Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:
Based out of their Kent office on a hybrid basis, you will work alongside the Project Director and wider commercial and construction team, to ensure successful project delivery, whilst maximising commercial returns and managing risk.
- Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate s/cs, negotiation & finalise s/c orders, financial & commercial management of s/cs to Final Account completion.
- Managing and reporting of forecasts, target, reconciliations, site records, document control, variation reporting, valuations, assisting in the site records & document control
- Liaise with & commercially influence/challenge site management team whilst maintaining & protecting JSS commercial & contractual entitlement
- Manage & oversee AQS & TQS, checking & taking responsibility for their work & sign-off SMM/measurement issues
Quantity Surveyor Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or HNC/HND Quantity Surveying or construction related qualification.
- 5 - 10 years' experience working on railway projects/frameworks, with railway systems / MEP experience advantageous but not essential.
- Experienced in self-delivery of projects from pricing and award, through to final accounts.
- Able to produce quotations, price variations, do Take-Offs and remeasure.
- Well organised, diligent, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Comfortable engaging with clients and senior leaders.
