Job description

PSR Solutions are looking for a Community Liaison Coordinator / Assistant / Officer, to join a leading civil Engineering contractor specialising in civils, demolition, basement and structures. They have a turnover of around £140M+.

We are looking for a well organised individual to assist the community liaison manager with coordinating. The Client Liaison Officer / assistant will be assisting with Customer Relations side of the business, from dealing with local residents, councils, your role will be incredibly varied and interesting.

The role is very flexible, and we encourage new, improved, innovative ways of working. You will be the first and last point of contact for all residents, so you will need to be very personable, professional but also approachable. By building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders and have respect to act as a trusted adviser on public liaison matters.

The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below:
  • Manage delivery of agreed project social value plans, providing appropriate, timely information to all stakeholders
  • Be the first line of response for issues of concern to facilitate all enquiry and complaint resolution in a prompt and professional manner
  • Manage community relations activities and participate in project led community liaison working groups
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and client stakeholders to implement community liaison and investments plans
  • Coordinate resource to attend community relations events - including public exhibitions, community meetings and work site specific community liaison working groups
  • Develop and maintain an effective site visit programme, identifying opportunities to showcase expertise, raise profiles and build trust with the local community
  • Work closely with UK Communications team to align messaging outputs effectively, talk positively about project successes and ensure protection of the brand
  • Support and input into project Involved plans
  • Daily liaison (as required) with local business/property owners. This may involve visiting owners at their properties or having meetings at the site office
  • Create a schedule of any enquiries/complaints from owners/agents & general public. Maintaining a daily diary
  • Community Engagement works - Keep an updated schedule of any work we do involving the community
  • Produce a fortnightly case study
  • Analysing local media coverage
  • Producing regular newsletters and ad hoc letter drops to keep residents and businesses informed of progress or changes on the project


Vital experience needed -
  • Understanding new build residential defects, managing the defects schedule will be essential
  • Being the first point of contact, liaising with all stakeholders during sales
  • Ensuring you are meeting completion targets
  • Managing bespoke requests
  • Being able to manage your own time and diary
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • This role will be your own, so you need to be able to prioritise, get stuck in and be willing to complete duties that may fall outside your role when needed.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated, independent and organised, with a good level of IT knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe PDF).
  • You will need to have excellent communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal in order to deal with the internal and external stakeholders and business owners, schools, colleges, charities and other organisations that are impacted by the project.
  • You will possess the ability to write informative and accurate communications to strict deadlines and be a self-starter with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • You will have strong community relations and stakeholder management experience, be a team player with ability to influence and negotiate and have strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of meeting/exceeding key project KPI's and be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • This role will require you to get out and about in the community so a willingness to travel and meet people face to face is key.


This role requires a reliable and flexible individual with a professional attitude when handling internal and external relationships. Candidates must be able to demonstrate effective time management skills.
