Job description

My client is one of the UK's leading fire proofing companies, they deliver high-quality, fully compliant passive fire protection solutions for construction projects of all sizes. They work with clients to protect them from non-compliance and ensuring best practice. They have the best reputation in the industry and have worked on some of the most prestigious projects in the UK. Due to company expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join their Delivery team in Liverpool.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for teams of site staff, duties will include;

Provide input into Pre-Construction Activities:

  • Manage tasks as assigned as part of the tender process.
  • Provide support to the commercial process.
  • Plan and develop the programme delivery.

Produce Contract Programme:

  • Manage the contract programme.
  • Determine methods of working.
  • Prepare programmes to meet completion dates.

Produce the Procurement Programme:

  • Develop and format a procurement strategy and programme.
  • Monitor and update the programme to suit changed circumstances.

Manage the Planning of Work Methods, Resources and Systems:

  • Manage the planning of work activities and resources to meet contract requirements.
  • Contribute to the selection and formation of contract teams.
  • Implement and manage site communication channels.

Develop Teams, Individual and Self:

  • Plan self/teams development activities.
  • Appraise team members.
  • Identify development requirements.

Monitor and Control Contract Cost, Quality and Progress:

  • With surveying staff monitor and contribute to the control of project costs against agreed budgets.
  • Contribute to the control of project progress against weekly and monthly production targets.
  • Control contract against contract specification.
  • Ensure scheduled completion dates are met for each stage of the contract.
  • Maintain contract compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure contract records are maintained

Develop and Maintain Effective Working Relationships:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers and the community.
  • Manage the attendance, time keeping and general discipline of all direct reports.
  • Develop the team to improve performance

Manage Health, Safety and Environmental Systems:

  • Maintain systems for managing the contract health and safety and environmental issues.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace.
  • Assess and control risks in the workplace.

Manage Customer Care requirements and contribute to Marketing Strategy and Corporate Image:

  • Identify and agree customer requirements and preferences.
  • Maintain a customer care policy to encourage repeat customer business.

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have;

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • NVQ Level 6 in a relevant subject
