Position: Contracts Manager

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + Car allowance + Pension

Region: East Midlands

I'm working exclusively on behalf of my client based in Derby, the company in question are looking to add an experienced Contracts Manager to their team due to continued growth month on month.

The ideal candidate will ideally have a considerable amount of construction experience and have a proven track record with clear management skills. You will be required to work from the East Midlands office, visiting sites when required.

The company tender for schemes ranging from £2m-£5m in value, these include new builds & refurbishments.

The person needs to be driven and share the company's growth ambitions.

Experienced Senior Site Managers or Project Managers will be considered if they have the right attitude to succeed.

Duties & Core Competences will include:

  • To have overall responsibility for multiple construction projects, reporting on a regular and routine basis to the Managing Director
  • Manage construction teams in delivering a consistent service to time, safety, quality and cost, ensuring clients expectations are met in full and contract performance targets realised
  • Create & present monthly H&S audits
  • Accurate progress reporting and monitoring
  • Performance against profit plan
  • Procurement of plant and materials in timely manner
  • Have significant operational experience as a Contracts Manager or similar post and sufficient presence to command respect
  • Have a detailed understanding of the construction process from a technical and managerial point of view
  • Team player who demonstrates both leadership and supportive qualities
  • Good communication skills and be able to relate to people at all levels, clients, colleagues or supply chain members
  • Commercially and contractually aware
  • IT proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic, be non-confrontational and have a flexible approach to workload
