Position: Contracts Manager

Salary/Day Rate: Up to £85,000 Basic Salary + Car + Package Benefits (Depending on Experience)

Region: Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire/Cambridge

Summary:

We are looking for a Contracts Manager with easy access to projects based between Hertfordshire, Cambridge and Buckinghamshire. The role will entail managing 3/4 projects at a time, overseeing a team of Assistant through to Project managers.

This will be site based, however there will be visits to head office at least once a week. The Contracts Manager will be working on predominantly Design & Build projects valued up to £15million+ with a well established and rapidly growing contractor.

The ideal candidate must have a background working for main contractors or developers with experience in the Commercial/Industrial/Retail sector and ideally have worked on steel alterations or steel frames.

The successful Contracts Manager would need to be able to manage the following:

  • Promote the company quality test and inspection procedure at all levels
  • To work in close cooperation with the Senior Site Manager, Project Manager, Design Manager, Building Services Manager and commercial team on all aspects of the construction project
  • Develop and continually monitor detailed contract programmes in conjunction with the Project Planner
  • Liaising with the relevant design teams and subcontractors
  • Proactively work with the Health & Safety department to ensure standards are maintained and full compliance with the safety management system is achieved

Personal Requirements:

  • Industrial or Commercial build background
  • Previous experience in a similar role (managing multiple projects/packages)
  • Proactive approach & Forward thinker
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills are essential
  • Extensive knowledge and awareness of health, safety, and environmental procedures, practices and legislation
  • Good technical knowledge, including building services
  • Good customer relationship skills
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively
  • Proactive, diligent, able and willing to think ahead
  • Ability to understand the wider picture whilst devoting attention to detail
  • Driven and enthusiastic with total commitment to personal and project success
  • Good commercial and contractual awareness
