Job description

My Client is a Design and Build contractor who have been in business for over 60 years. They are a Global business and carry out work across all sectors. They are currently in the market for a Document Controller to work on a new build high-rise scheme in Liverpool worth over £70M.

  • Maintaining an electronic document control system to meet the needs of the project and office based teams
  • Managing the requirements for document control on one or more projects to ensure implementation and compliance
  • Identifying contractual requirements in relation to document control
  • Ensuring accurate control of documentation from Pre-Construction/PQQ through to completion and archiving
  • Liaising with teams to ensure they have a full understanding of document control and procedures
  • Provide training and instruction as required to ensure established requirements are met
  • Ensure the procedures are fully implemented in order to meet the requirements of the business
  • Monitor compliance and advise senior management of individuals failing to observe these systems and procedures
  • Understand the archive periods for all types of documents
  • Ensure regular archiving is carried out
  • Understanding of BIM process (PAS1192-2)
  • Working knowledge of BS1192-2007
  • Development of work-flows and process maps explaining document control process
  • Manage users and user rights on Asite
  • QA check all drawings/documents uploaded onto Asite and distribute
  • Arranging printing and internal distribution
  • Carry out any other responsible duties requested by the Senior staff

Essential experience;
  • Minimum 2 years experience of document control within construction
  • The ability to develop strong personal relationships with clients/consultants and staff
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, work and Power Point
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail
