PSR Solutions are recruiting for a Estimating Assistant / Administrator for an established civils contractor in the South Yorkshire Yorkshire area.

The Role

As Estimating Assistant, you will play an integral role in the daily operations of our Estimating Department. You do not need specific experience in the industry, but you need to be ready and willing to get stuck in. You will be predominantly booking in, organising and circulating all new enquiries and amendments to existing enquiries.

As well as offering administrative support to the Estimators, you will not be afraid to pick up the phone and make cold calls or follow up on enquiries, develop new business and network with potential customers. Likewise, you'll be happy to support in the general running of the office and as a minimum have excellent IT skills in Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.

Daily tasks will include

  • Answering phones, directing calls and fielding questions relating to enquiries;
  • Managing and maintaining main email account and Estimating Software for the department;
  • Booking in new enquiries, preparing and circulating physical files;
  • Requesting any additional/missing information required;
  • Contacting main contractors and creating new opportunities;
  • Liaising and updating the records when revised information comes in;
  • Follow up calls for submitted tenders and chasing opportunities;
  • Sending out quotation requests
  • Business development - working off own initiative to research and create new business opportunities
  • Sending out feedback forms for completed projects, logging and circulating returned forms;
  • Any other office/admin/estimator requests required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Excellent organization and administration skills
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Competent with IT and familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and phone manner
  • Confident and hard working
