Position: Estimator

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Car (or) Car allowance + Pension + Health

Region: Derby, East Midlands

My client has an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join their growing business. Formed originally in the 70's the bossiness built up an excellent reputation in the construction industry from producing a quality service time and time again.

Operating from their office in Derby close to Junction 25 of the M1 enables them to service contracts over the wider midlands area. My clients aim is to build long term relationships with customers many of whom have placed repeat business with them stretching back over 40 years.

The business work on a diverse range of projects ranging from £50k - £2m in value utilising different methods of construction to give the client what they want and at a more competitive price.

There is a strong friendly ethos to the way the company is run, with an emphasis on a there being a good work/ life balance for all employees. This positive culture is one of the reasons why they have an extremely low staff turnover. Put simply it is a rewarding and enjoyable place to work.

The services that they provide include, Principle contracting, Industrial refurb, Concrete works, Drainage works, Groundworks and Cladding.



The Opportunity

The team is very busy and for that reason they are looking to recruit an experienced, ambitious and driven Estimator.

This role is key to the company's growth plans. Due to the amount of interest in the business they cannot keep up with the number of enquiries they are getting so they are going to take on a full time Estimator - They see this as an essential hire to grow the business and brand.

The role
  • Production of accurate prime costs for the projects
  • Co-ordinate the tender process
  • Develop relationships with design consultants, clients & project managers
  • Identify areas of risk and opportunity
  • Develop relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Develop knowledge of market place and competitors
  • Putting prices together from suppliers & Subcontractors
