Job description

Are you an Estimator, looking for the next step in your career? Are you experienced and comfortable in running tenders of up to £2m? If so, this could be the next role for you.

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Estimator to work with our Client in Warwick. Our Client is a very reputable Main Contractor, being a Privately Owned business with a turnover of £110m. As a Business, they complete projects mainly within the Industrial and Retail sectors.

This position is within the Companies small works division, completing projects of between £250k - £2m. Projects will be a mixture of Traditional and Design & Build, with a mixture of New Build and Refurbishments.

Duties:

  • Initial assessment of a tender opportunity; provide an overview of the project at the launch meeting
  • Appraise tender & identify competitive opportunities
  • Carry out or coordinate the measurement of the project in order to meet the tender deadline
  • Identify risks and record on a tender risk register
  • Conduct / arrange site visits
  • Compile sub-contractor enquiries for issue electronically, source subcontractors and suppliers capable of carrying out the works specific to the project, size, complexity and location
  • Attend mid tender and design review meetings in order to ensure the most economically advantageous bid
  • Understanding of the salient contract conditions
  • Record and issue all tender addendum's
  • Identify, collate and issue competitive TQ's
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and Design Team
  • Liaise with the supply chain to establish programme periods lead ins and resolve queries
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager/Director to produce preliminaries in line with the tender programme and
    requirements
  • Price the measured Bills of Quantities for the project
  • Present the financial elements for the tender settlement meeting using standard booklet
  • Lead production of the tender submission document
  • Value engineering: provide advice and costs associated with value engineering proposals for the project
  • Present the tender financially in the format required by the Client
  • Submit tender in line with tender instructions
  • Provide input in post tender queries and negotiations
  • Collate mid-tender and post-tender meeting documents
  • Present Tender submissions at Tender Handover meetings
  • Ensure verbal and important discussions/agreements are recorded in writing (email)
