Fire Door Auditors (Freelance) Greater London

To start in August subject to interview - 36 Months + work

£120 - £130 Per day + Expenses Paid + Bonuses

An established health and safety consultancy are currently lookinh for a number of freelance Fire Safety Auditors to conduct fire door audits in and around the Greater London area.

Ideally having completed this type of work before or been involved in facilities building inspections, the candidate will have a basic knowledge of fire with some form of fire qualification.

The company will provide an iPad with the audit software on to be able to carry out the inspections and will also provide expenses on top of the daily rate + bonuses.

Fire Door Auditor Role - Overview of requirements;

  • Work across multiple sites
  • Complete 6 or more fire door audits per hour
  • Work closely with clients Fire Door Auditor
  • IT Literate, familiar with Microsoft packages
  • Proven track record in a similar role or at least building facilities auditing
  • Knowledge of Fire Safety

The day to day duties of the role will include;


  • The Consultant shall, during the preparation period before attending site, determine fire resistance requirements, locations etc from plans and drawings received from the client.
  • On site, the Consultant will meet with the client where available, to confirm the brief and specifically consider the prioritising of issues and recommended timelines and then undertake an initial orientation site visit to discuss, in the absence of any fire strategy or compartmentation plan, with the client and its contractors any assumptions as to compartmentation and separation arrangements.
  • Where areas are unavailable or inaccessible these shall be recognised within the report and the Consultant shall make recommendations based on the risks associated with the general findings.
  • In auditing the fire doors, the Consultant shall inspect and review the available fire doors within the common areas of the building (subject to the scope above).
  • The full inspection of a fire door and set shall be conducted using a tablet and shall consider the elements and checks on the spreadsheet. Where appropriate photographic evidence will be taken using the iPad.
  • On completion of the inspection of a door add a sticker to the door / frame
  • Photograph the door and add to the spreadsheet
  • Complete the spreadsheet before moving on to the next door
  • On completion of the audit review the findings and provide a brief report using the template document provided
  • Return the completed audit spreadsheet and written report to production.
