Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The main purpose of the role is to manage the COINS build programme for the region providing up to date and accurate scheduling information for the construction teams.

To understand the technical requirements of site management and build programmes and liaise with relevant departments to ensure programmes run to plan.

To understand, implement and adhere to SHEQ policy and strategy.

MAIN DUTIES

  • To produce accurate build programs for the site teams ensuring that these are up to date and communicated to the construction management team.
  • To manage delays to the programme proactively and act decisively when faced with issues.
  • To manage any updates, amendments or revisions to the build programme and ensure that any revised schedules are communicated to the site management teams.
  • To monitor progress on build schedule and identify any risks or delays in delivery and proactively manage these with recovery plans.
  • Have up to date knowledge of appropriate build legislation, regulations and standards affecting the programme.
  • Undertake regular site visits to review build progress.
  • Liaise with the Product Development team to drive improvements to design, specification and buildability
  • To have a technical understanding of build scheduling and allocate work to ensure resources are managed effectively.
  • To work with Land and Partnership department and contribute and participate in winning work land bids and tenders.
  • For new tenders to gain detailed understanding of the scope of works, identifying client issues, timing and phasing requirements and provide a brief for submission documents.
  • To work with the commercial department to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies and ensure knowledge of cost and profit drivers through the build programme.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Previous experience within contract management
  • Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation
  • Experience of partnership arrangements
  • Understanding of local government
  • Up to date relevant knowledge of health and safety legislation
