Job Description;

My client is a Regional contractor who undertake Design & Build projects including, Extra Care Homes, High rise residential apartments and social housing across the North-West Region. They are successful in the building, property development and construction industry. They deliver complete end-to-end solutions for registered housing providers, from sourcing land to handing over complete developments.

As a result of their continued investment and a healthy project pipeline, the group have doubled their staff numbers and require a further intake before the end of the year and in the New Year. They are in the market to add a Health and Safety Manager to their team.

  • Ensure the Business remains compliant with all legislation regarding Health Safety and the Environment.
  • Drive to deliver continual SHE improvements across the Business.
  • Ensure Companies SHE procedures are implemented to allow all relevant legislation to be complied with.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are correctly reported and investigated in accordance with Company SHE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all SHE reporting requirements are provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure environmental procedures, reporting and required environmental statements are produced and maintained.
  • Co-ordination of, and interface with Considerate Constructors Scheme activities.

  • Build and Housing background
  • Environmental experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Significant supervisory experience
  • Chartered SHE professional or equivalent (or demonstrable IPD/CPD equivalent Diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety)
  • Detailed understanding of SHE legislation
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 Standards
  • Ability to work as part of and/or lead a team
  • Able to work under pressure

Applicable candidates will be expected to have at least 5 years' experience and have previously worked for Housing or Main contractors in the past.
