Minimum Requirement
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification and experience
  • Civil engineering project experience
  • Experience undertaking take offs, pricing and managing sub-contractors
  • NEC3 contract experience

The Project

You will have the opportunity to work on a large 10 year highways civils framework (not maintenance), working on projects between £500k to £4 million. Also to work on HS2 enabling works, up to £10,000,000.

The Role

Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be accountable for the procurement of subcontractors, measurement and payment of subcontractors, preparation and submission of Cost/Value Comparisons, preparing estimates of works valued on a Schedule of Rates and / or Day-work basis.

Client interface involves monthly valuations and final accounts, monthly meetings, cost reporting / forecasting. A meticulous eye for detail is required along with conscientious management of ever changing day to day circumstances.

The Person

As the ideal candidate you will have previous Quantity Surveying experience, especially with main contracting, heavy civil or groundwork companies.
  • Though a commercially related degree would be advantageous, it is not essential.
  • Previous NEC contract experience is essential
  • Experience undertaking take offs, pricing and managing sub-contractors
