Job description
Our client is an established railway contractor working throughout the Wessex & Great Western region and are a key Contractor into several CP6 Frameworks and standalone projects, including embankment stabilisation's, bridgework's, track drainage, troughing routes and station works.
They currently have an immediate need for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join them, to assist the Construction Director with pre & post project commercial and contractual administration.
This is a hands-on role, with the opportunity to be site / project based.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for assisting with compiling pricing and tender documentation, raising applications for payment, assisting with material requisitions where required, requesting approval for supplier invoices / applications, reviewing contractor timesheets, helping in the preparation of project cost reports and forecasts.
Key qualifications and experience will include:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant qualification and experience
- Civil engineering or infrastructure experience (with rail experience an advantage)
- Strong numerical skills
- Excel and Microsoft office
- Experience of NR or NEC forms of contract an advantage
- PTS & CSCS an advantage
