Job description This is the perfect time to join a division that is set to double in turnover over the next few years, with offices up and down the UK, the Southampton division is currently experiencing unprecedented growth and in turn are looking to bring on a management accountant to the team.


Your Company



Part of a FTSE 250 business and one of the UK's leading specialist construction groups with turnovers in excess of £3bn.

Your Role







KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing management accounts on a monthly basis

Producing meaningful forecasts and budgets incorporating turnovers, profits and cash flows to incorporate into the quarterly review process

Preparing the half-year and full-year statutory accounts

Assisting with the half-year and full-year audits

Identifying financial risks as part of preparation of above key tasks

Cash and bank reporting for the business unit

Reviewing key control accounts reconciliations on a monthly basis

Preparing month-end balance-sheet reconciliations

Reviewing overheads to date and update forecast as necessary

Checking and authorising (within delegated authority) payments to suppliers and subcontractors

Preparing and inputting of journals, prepayments and accruals

Reconciliation of inter-company balances

Providing support for the Finance Director as required

Ensuring compliance of group policies and accounting standards

Safeguarding the company's assets at all times



Your Personal SKills



You will ideally in a Management Accountant role and will be fully qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA.

You will be able to produce information accurately and to the stipulated deadlines

You will demonstrate a high level of competence

You will have the ability to follow up queries and obtain explanations of variances to budget

You will have strong interpersonal skills to enable effective communication at all levels

You will possess commercial acumen

You will be flexible in your approach

You will be proactive in dealing with issues

You will be able to work on your own initiative

You will able to work well in a team



EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a proven track record in producing concise management information

From a construction background (though this is not essential as full training will be provided)

Background of working to and achieving strict deadlines.

Experience of implementing new processes and procedures and consistently challenging such processes to improve

the quality of output

Knowledgeable of financial systems

Excel to an advanced standard

Good at building relationships internally
