Experienced Required
  • HND/Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification and experience
  • Experienced in managing change and risk;
  • Project delivery experience within civil engineering and aviation;

Our Client is a leading contractor on infrastructure projects in the public and regulated sectors. From highways and rail to renewable energy and water, delivering a specialist capability from concept and design through to project implementation and maintenance.

The Role

Working on a landside and airside frameworks, the Managing QS role for the South East Aviation division combines work winning, with successful project commercial delivery, as well as maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Commercial leadership of the Gatwick and Stansted Airport Frameworks, as well as non-framework tendered works
  • Supporting the bid process from receipt of tender documentation to handover to the production team, as required providing commercial leadership/ownership
  • Organising and directing of commercial resources for the overall commercial control at Stansted and Gatwick Airports
  • The appropriate procurement and selection of sub-contractors to carry out the works and placing of sub-contracts
  • Ensuring that key dates, resource requirements, production rates, overhead targets etc., are established, monitored and controlled
  • Establishing and maintaining commercial and financial control systems, procedures and standards which will meet the contractual requirements of the project


The Person

As the ideal candidate you will have the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate the following experience:
  • HND/Degree qualified Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar;
  • Proven track record of success in delivering projects within the civil engineering sector;
  • Knowledge of the business risks and opportunities associated with project delivery within the Aviation sector;
  • Experience of management of key suppliers including sub-contractors and designers;
  • A leader providing clear direction in order to achieve 'buy in';
