Job description

Project Manager

Role - To be our main point of contact on a single project or across 2 smaller projects. To be responsible for coordinating support teams including engineers, supervisors, internal CAD teams and working with the commercial team.

Reporting to a contracts manager on major projects or directly to the operations director on smaller projects



Essential Requirements: -
  • SMSTS and relevant CSCS training
  • Have a good knowledge of carbon steel pipework
  • Able to read and understand drawings including schematics and coordination drawings
  • Able to review and understand received technical submittals
  • IT literate (Outlook, Word, Excel, Navis)




Duties will include and cover: -
  • Attend the initial project handover meetings be aware of our scope, exclusions and the extent of our project works. Download this information to engineers, CAD teams, Supervisors as and when necessary
  • Review project specifications and ensure we are compliant. Highlight out reduced versions specific to our works and raise any risk or unusual items.
  • Produce technical submittals and issue for approval, manage sign off and acceptance.
  • Raise RFI's to our client and manage closure
  • Project planning
    • Review received contract programmes
    • Produce 4 week look ahead programmes
    • Organise works ensuring labour resources are at suitable levels be it with our own labour, sub contract or agency labour.
  • Coordinating the CAD works. Providing CAD teams with the correct information to produce drawings, reviewing the progress as works are being drawn and undertaking final sign off checks
  • Ensure bulk take offs are produced and bulk buying is achieved
  • Produce weekly call off lists for pre-fabricated modules, skids, spools and brackets
  • Arrange delivery slots with our clients and main contractors
  • Be responsible for the project H&S requirements including producing RAMS, Collating and issuing weekly H&S packs
  • Reviewing site plant and managing what is needed and what can be off hired
  • Coordinate works and logistics with our client, main contractors and other trades on site
  • Being commercially aware. Ensuring spend is efficient that instructions for variations are received. Provide back-up information for variations to our Commercial Managers to firm costs up
  • Package up works so they can be offered to installation teams as price work
  • Produce monthly project reports and attend monthly project review meetings
  • Manage the QA system. Ensure inspection packs are produced and that test/handover packs are generated and ensure red line record drawings are issued
