Job description

My client is a leading supplier of consulting and infrastructure support services both in the UK and internationally. They have been in business for over 100 years and continue to serve the communities they work in, whatever the weather and whatever the challenge. They cover a range of sectors including; Utilities, Environmental & Waste, Facilities Management, Engineering, Transport and many more.

They are looking for a Planning Manager to work out of their office based in Sheffield. Reporting in to the Operations Support Manager the Planning Manager will be assisting projects which involve Utilities and Highways.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the scheduling functions and managed effectively and efficiently
  • To ensure sufficient resources are available for the scheduled requirements
  • To manage, train and develop the team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Ensure Compliance with agreed scheduling processes

Experience:

  • Planning experience in a multi-disciplinary role (Planned and reactive maintenance Desirable)
  • Ability to see whole picture from the overarching strategic objective
  • Previous Operations Control Room or Resource Planning team management experience
  • Utilities or Highways maintenance experience.
  • Strong people manager skills.
  • Multi work stream delivery experience
  • Microsoft Projects experience (Required)
  • Oracle P6 (Desirable but not necessary)
  • Experience of RAMS (Desired)
  • Business improvement experience
  • NVQ Management Level 4 or Equivalent
