Estimator

PSR Solutions are working with a market leading client within the Civil Engineering Sector to recruit a Civils Estimator to Join their Pre-Construction team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in the Nottingham and will involve winning work for Major civils projects. The Client is well versed in the delivery of major infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

Estimator Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive their success by producing winning tenders and nurturing key customer relationships.
• Create precise cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment, based on customer drawings and specifications.
• Stay ahead of the curve by understanding current market prices and benchmarking solutions for increased success rates.
• Work closely with the New Business Manger to ensure compliance with company procedures, business strategy, and clearance levels.
• Assist in presenting tender proposals to customers and actively participate in customer meetings throughout the tender process.
• Assess and adhere to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements, ensuring the safety of all stakeholders.
• Source suitable sub-contractors and specialists for each project to guarantee the highest quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively with Construction Managers, Planners, and the Design Team to ensure seamless project execution.
• Prepare comprehensive documents for senior management to showcase cost calculations and project feasibility.
• Ensure a smooth handover of bid documentation to the commercial and project operations teams.

Estimator Requirements

• A degree in General Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in pricing General Civil Engineering and Highways tenders.
• A deep understanding of civil engineering and the construction industry.
• Independently pricing projects with minimal reliance on others.
• Exceptional analytical skills, including strong financial acumen and organisational abilities.
• Thrive in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
