We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work on a residential project for our client, who are a specialist developer who build some impressive projects across the region.
Quantity Surveyor Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands!
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining their standard of excellence and will work closely with the commercial team, local authorities, and housing associations to effectively manage project costs and ensure the successful delivery of social housing projects.
Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Assess quantity requirements and review architectural plans to estimate costs for materials, labour, and resources.
- Contract Preparation: Prepare contracts, tender documents, and procurement schedules.
- Budget Monitoring: Track project budgets and manage changes during the construction process.
- Client and Contractor Liaison: Provide cost-related guidance and support to clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Cost Analysis and Risk Management: Assist in conducting cost analysis and developing procurement strategies.
- Project Monitoring: Track project progress, including cost control, variations, and valuations.
- Final Accounts Preparation: Prepare final accounts, resolve outstanding contractual claims, and manage subcontract negotiations and variations.
- Financial Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and advice to project teams.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor on Residential Projects
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong numeracy and financial management skills.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., MS Excel).
