Job description

A well-established client of PSR's are currently looking for a Designer to join their team on a salary basis to work on upcoming multi-million pound projects within the Yorkshire area. The company is a national, full building envelope contractor, specialising in roofing, cladding, glazing and maintenance across a diverse range of sectors. They are looking to employ a Project Designer on a salaried basis.

Duties:
  • Consultation with the Design Team Leader to prepare a drawing programme (based on the preliminary programme prepared by the Pre Construction Design Manager) together with an early RFI's schedule for submission and agreement with the client.
  • Work closely with the Design Team Leader, to assume responsibility for maintaining the overall design integrity of each project;
  • Provide quality working drawings and material schedules for the successful procurement and installation of materials on site;
  • To record and make known any design issues, including potential variations, in a timely fashion to the operations management team and/or the Quantity Surveyor in order that they can request official instruction from the client
  • Commercial awareness and control on site
  • Awareness of programme constraints and driving works to meet targets





Profile:
  • Proven Design skills
  • Understanding of Design Processes
  • Facades background preferable
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of CAD systems and software
  • Proven experience in similar role with construction industry
  • Good basic working knowledge of the contractual requirements and obligations in respect of the scope of works.
  • Strong timekeeping and organisational skills
  • Able to maintain a high level of work quality again cost restraints
  • Good basic working knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental legislation.
