Position: Project Director

Salary: £85,000 - 92,000 + £8,500 Car / Car allowance + Pension + Health

My client is seeking a Project Director to initially be based on a Design & Build scheme in St. Albans, managing a portfolio of other projects concurrently. The organisation is a main building contractor who has a reputation in delivering high quality schemes ranging from £5M to £35M in value. This initial scheme is fairly complex and has a build value of £10M. It will be a live environment and logistically challenging.

The company carry out work across all sectors; however their reputation is strong in the sector of Commercial/ Residential/ Retail & Mixed use projects.

The successful project director would need to be able to manage the following:-

Pre Construction
  • Manage the planning application submission working with the Design team - option of working from home or near-by site
  • Manage the 12 week conversion from feasibility sign off to full contractors proposals issue in 12 weeks with the DM and QS.
  • Manage the market testing of the project within the 12 week CP production process with the QS including management of derogation/clarifications etc.
  • Undertake all health and safety planning.

  • Project deliver to all safety, cost and programme/quality targets. Snag free, On Time, RIDDOR free with a Delighted Client.
  • Will be supported by site teams including project managers, site manager, engineers & quantity surveyors.

Ideal candidate
  • Pre construction proven track record.
  • SMSTS minimum.
  • CSCS card.
