Job description

PSR Solutions are currently looking for a project planner to assists the Planning Manager in meeting the requirements of the project.

Provide planning for:
  • Multi-disciplinary programme development in conjunction with subcontractors and other stakeholders
  • Programme integration with other areas
  • Scoping out of activity dependencies such as methods statements, permits, Inspection and test plans, consents, permits, assurance and stakeholder requirements
  • Resource and cost loading of programmes to level 4.
  • Production of Look-aheads and weekly work plan programmes
  • Produce Programme fragnets and Integrated programmes
  • Analysis and tracking of programme float paths
  • Reporting in accordance with the weekly work plan and periodic programme submittals
  • Identify and demonstrate the impacts of change events.
  • Provide support in the issuance of relevant communications, early warnings and instructions
  • Satisfy requirements of NEC3 Contracts and the Works Information
  • Provide scenario planning support to the project team
  • Development of compensation events and early warnings
  • Provide analysis for the acceptance/rejection of contractor programmes under NEC3 contracts


ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the contract and the Planning Manager.
  • Produce look ahead programmes and update inputs from the delivery team.
  • Collect site progress and update programme data accordingly
  • Resource loading and cost allocation in Primavera P6 and other software as required.
  • Re-sequence and adapt the programme in accordance with team construction methodologies
  • Produce reports and management information for the board and senior management as required by the Planning Manager.
  • Maintain traceability of programme change
  • Work in a multi-user Primavera environment
  • To deputize for Planning Manager in his absence and attend meetings on request at the project sites
  • Undertake site visits on a periodic basis to inform the programme development and periodic updates
  • Liaise with all project departments to inform the programme development, periodic updates, compensation events, early warnings, value engineering and strategy development.


SPECIFIC SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The post holder must comply with sections 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act:
  • To take reasonable care for the safety of themselves and of any other person who may be affected by what they do or fail to do at work
  • To co-operate with their employers or any other persons in the performance of their statutory duties
  • Not to misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare
  • The post holder must also comply with the requirements of H&S Policy and co-operate with the client in its efforts to prevent accidents and ill health. In particular the post holder will:
  • Read and comply with the location rules
  • Behave in a responsible manner at all times
  • Develop and demonstrate a personal concern for the health and safety of themselves and others
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to their line manager or health and safety manager as appropriate.
  • Report damage to plant and equipment to their immediate supervisor
  • Use only that plant and equipment for which they have received training and authorisation
  • Use and look after the protective equipment provided and report to their supervisor when it becomes worn or defective
  • Ensure that any personal injuries are recorded in the accident book
  • Propose to their immediate supervisor ways of eliminating hazards and improving safety at their workplace
  • Attend health surveillance when instructed
  • Set a personal example of safe behaviour


EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
  • The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Educated to HND - HNC level or equivalent in a construction or related discipline. A low educational level combined with extensive experience in a similar role would meet this requirement
  • Membership of a relevant professional body at member or associate member level
  • Substantial experience of planning, cost and resource loading utilising Primavera P6 software.
  • Demonstrable construction and operational planning experience on large civil works
  • Knowledge of NEC3 Contracts and how they are implemented/administered
