Job description

My client who is a leading tier one residential contractor is looking for two Project Surveyors to join his team working on a flagship scheme in Canning Town.

The scheme consists of 975 homes across 5 blocks ranging from 9 - 26 storey, with one third of the homes being PRS via a subsidiary of Thames Valley Housing, Fizzy Living. In addition to this the scheme will create 4,500 sqm of mixed use space.

The mixed tenure accommodation will comprise of 35% market sale, 35& for PRS and 30& affordable housing with also 130 bed hotel, retail, community and commercial space.

The role

Main duties will include procurement, subcontract management inclusive of administration of the contract, monthly payments and final account settlement. In addition the role will require completion of subcontract procurement

The candidate will help to produce monthly external valuations and agree variations with the client. Plus, provide supporting information for cost forecasting and reporting.

Sub-contract Procurement and Account Management

The timely placement of sub-contract orders in line with procurement schedule and commercial parameters and opportunities.

Regular assessment of work, variation assessment and payment recommendation in line with Sub-contract conditions

External Valuations

Timely submissions in accordance with Contract requirements to maximise profit and cash flow.

Financial Reporting

Regular reporting of accurate cost value reconciliations and forecasting.

Identifying risks and making recommendations as to how risk can be overcome.

Identifying and exploiting fully opportunities

Contractual Matters

Promptly and fully address all contractual matters to protect the Company's position at all times.


Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with Client, Client Representatives, Supply Chain and internal Teams.

Ensure the safe working practices are adopted and followed throughout in accordance with current legislation and Group Policy and Procedures

Regularly review all works in progress, specifically to ensure all health and safety procedures are being followed.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record working on residential schemes for either contractors or developers in London working within a successful teams which would include profit maximisation, robust financial, commercial acumen.

They must be proven in procurement, placing subcontract orders and subcontract account management and will have a reputation for integrity, maturity, and sound business judgement; be totally comfortable working in a team environment; and possess the creativity, commercial expertise, and commitment to successfully play an important role with the commercial and site teams.
