Position: Project Quantity Surveyor

Projects: Commercial, Education and Health Care Projects

Location: Hertfordshire/Essex

My client are a well-established, award winning main contractor now seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to work on a mixture of commercial, education and health care projects within Hertfordshire/Essex.

My client has been working within the above sectors for over 25 years, working on various iconic projects throughout the UK. Coupled with their commercial and health care sector, they've also conducted work across the private and public realm up to £200 million in value.

As a Project Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to perform day to day duties such as:
  • Control of subcontract and materials ordering/procurement including payments
  • Responsible for estimating services providing detailed measures, including Bill of Quantities production
  • Management of sub-contract packages on projects in a timely manner protecting the company's contractual position
  • Measurements, valuations, and agreement of work sections
  • Submission of accurate and timely payment applications, and chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments, working closely with our accounts department.
  • Ability to identify areas of overspend, waste and commercial risk, and be able to produce feasibility studies and cost plans
  • Production of accurate internal cost reporting, in addition to producing final accounts, and extension of time claims
  • Working closely with the production department, able to advise on commercial risks and opportunities within projects
  • Price tender submissions
  • Meet clients and attend site meetings to review and discuss work carried out
  • Supply Chain control
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record working for a main contractor in the construction industry
  • Must have at least 4/5 years experience working within a similar role
  • Commercially ran projects up to £10 million pounds in value
  • Must be qualified at degree level or working towards MRICS or equivalent professional level.
  • Should be able demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment
  • Provide clear and transparent information and reporting
