Position: Project Quantity Surveyor - Wigan

The Role

On behalf of one of the most well-known Main Contractors, I am seeking to recruit an experienced Project level Quantity Surveyor in Wigan.

The flagship project that you will initially be working on will either be a £20M Commercial scheme in Warrington or a £10M Health scheme in Liverpool, dependant on what suits your experience and location better.

Operating nationally and specialising in multiple Construction sectors, this Main Contractor is going from strength to strength.

You will be reporting into the Commercial lead on the sites.

My client is offering a very competitive package & development to the Senior QS level quickly.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working on New Build & Refurb schemes - JCT FOC.

You will have the skill set required to come in and ensure the job is performed to high standards.

You should be personable, enthusiastic, demonstrate excellent client skills with a pragmatic approach and the ability to perform well under pressure within a busy team.

Expected Duties Include
  • Working as part of the project team to ensure all commercial matters and procedures are correctly dealt with
  • Procurement of sub-contract packages
  • Agreement of the valuation of any variations
  • Preparation of sub-contract agreements
  • Checking of sub-contractors interim and final account applications and preparation of associated payments
  • Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
  • Dealing with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues
  • Liaison with site management, accounts and other members of the project team to obtain
  • Information and keep interested parties informed
