Job description

Key Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification
  • Circa 5 years' experience within Civil Engineering (rail, highways, airports, water etc.)
  • Management of multiple schemes / packages of works concurrently, through the full project life cycle
  • Contractual management of NEC3 forms of contract (see responsibilities below)
  • Happy to work between office and site

The Role:

Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be an integral member of the team delivering a diverse portfolio of railway related civil engineering projects within the South East or Southern region.

You will be responsible for managing and delivering your own smaller portfolio of projects or working as part of a team on larger projects and being responsible for your own packages of work.

You will take responsibility for all areas of Quantity Surveying, financial and contractual administration for your projects. This will include but not limited to:

  • Reporting to the Senior Surveyor on a functional basis and to the Project Manager on an operational basis on all financial and contractual matters
  • Sub-contract procurement and management
  • Cost reporting and maintaining project profitability
  • Producing timely cost and financial reports
  • Assisting with risk and change management
  • Mentoring and training junior members of staff where applicable
  • Developing and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
