Role: Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to: Commercial Director

Location: Stafford

Package: Variable (depending on experience)

The Company:

Established in 1992, my client are a leading West Midlands based contractor, continually growing and winning work with Highways England and are an emerging force in UK Highways Infrastructure. They are a dynamic and forward thinking business with a turnover exceeding £50Million.

The Role:

You will be working within the Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying for the across various interests of the business, the role will involve managing the day-to-day commercial aspects of medium-sized highways infrastructure projects across Highways England (Area 9) including; Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing Quotations - Water Management and Drainage Remediation schemes, amongst others.
  • Contract administration; including raising project notifications in the form of Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
  • Approving Suppliers & Subcontractor invoices for payment.
  • Processing Applications and Certificates and raising associated Invoices.
  • Assisting operational staff with providing options on proposals as well as associated programming of works.
  • Producing CVR's on scheme and department performance reviews.
  • Management of a busy workload which will include multiple projects at any one time.
  • Taking off quantities and production of bills of quantities in accordance with the Method of Measurement for Highways.
  • Creating good working relationships with Clients

The right candidate:

  • A relevant Quantity Surveying degree.
  • Experience in withing within Utilities (Preferred).
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar/previous role.
