Job description

Purpose of the role;

To lead the delivery of the Engineering services across the build sector through effective operational management, in partnership with stakeholders including; Clients, Management, Employees, Sub-Contractors, Supply Chain and Engineering Teams.

Responsibilities amongst others;
  • Overall responsibility for the Engineering service as assigned by the Business Unit Managing Director and Regional Directors
  • Participate as part of the Regional Leadership Team and support other team members in solving strategic problems to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business from long term customers
  • Support the Business Unit Managing Director in implementing the Business Unit Engineering Strategy
  • Responsibility for the allocation of temporary works coordinators across the region
  • Coordinate with the Regional Lifting Operations Manager the allocation of appointed persons on projects for lifting operations
  • Allocate adequate and appropriate & appropriate engineering resources to projects to set them up for success from the outset
  • Manage the relationship with key players in the supply chain to ensure that temporary works designs are available at the right time and at the right price to achieve overall project objectives/margins
  • Monitor industry changes and ensure the company is at the forefront of innovation and best practice
  • Provide engineering feedback on the quality of sub-contract work to continuously improve the list of preferred suppliers
  • Exercise influence in a leadership capacity for reports, supply chain principals and clients in the relentless strive for Zero incidents, Zero Injuries and high-quality standards
  • Undertake engineering audits across projects to ensure compliance and quality with company standards
  • Review engineering aspects of operational, commercial, legal and risk aspects of tenders and live projects regularly to ensure the accuracy and reliability of information presented to Regional board
  • Work closely with the pre-construction team to ensure timely delivery of complex tender services
  • Engage with the company programme for talent
  • Ensure that group level engineering procedures and practices meet best practice
