My client is one of the country`s fastest-growing and leading construction companies, working across public and private sectors. They have offices worldwide and have been operating in the UK for over 20 years. They have delivered some landmark projects and work in a number of sectors including Leisure, commercial, education, healthcare and residential.

My client is currently working on some high-profile and exciting projects in the Midlands with a very strong pipeline and are recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join their team.

As Senior Estimator, you will report directly to the Estimating Manager. My client is keen to look at either an Estimator who is looking for progression or a Senior Estimator to work within their Bid Team.

The Purpose of the role is to prepare accurate cost plans and detailed estimates, identifying true nett cost in order to enable the company to fulfil its business objectives.

Key Responsibilities;

The purpose of the role is to establish, maintain and operate a planning system in accordance with the planning procedures, providing a consistently high level of service. To effectively and professionally lead the planning function on multiple live projects ensuring the production teams are delivering the project time objectives.

Duties;
  • You must be able to work under your own direction with minimal supervision within a Bid Team environment whilst maintaining procedures and philosophy
  • Ensure safe delivery of the tender on date of submission
  • Present the estimates at the finalisation meetings
  • Liaise confidently with other members of the bid team ensuring that all aspects of the tender documentation are fully understood and adequately responded to and advise on cost, build ability and programme where appropriate
  • Ensure finalised estimates are signed off in accordance with the QA procedures and completion of the form of tender for signature by the Managing Director
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and consultant teams
  • To receive and check tender documentation and raise queries relating to the tender documentation
  • Evaluate the tender information and prepare tender action plans and contribute to Bid Strategy
  • Attend meetings with the clients and Design teams during and post tender
  • Evaluate and compare quotations received and compile the price in thorough, logical and a consistant manner
  • Prepare full priced buildups for internal priced elements of work to assist in supplier and subcontractor selection and to ensure competitiveness


Desirable experience includes:
  • Experience of On Screen measurement tools such as CAD measure/DWG Drawing review
  • Knowledge or previous experience with Causeway Estimating Software


In addition, for consideration at Senior Estimator level you should be able to demonstrate the following skills;
  • Act as Bid Manager on selected Tenders and Bids
  • Have the ability to manage other Estimating Team members at Bid Stage such as Administrators and support staff
