Job description

My client is one of the most successful privately-owned, and family run construction groups in the UK. They have a respectable turnover and carry out work across all sectors. They have ambitious growth plans and an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Estimator to join their team in the North West.

The company deliver high quality Design and Build schemes from Retail, Leisure, commercial, Student accommodation, Education, Industrial and distribution Schemes. The project values will typically range from £15M to £60M.

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will work alongside one other Senior Estimator and be responsible for tenders and live 2 stage projects based out of their Manchester office.

Duties will include;
  • Attend pre-construction and construction site visits.
  • Manage the production of enquiry schedules for packages from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued.
  • Manage the preparation of enquiry documents
  • Identify the tender deliverables required from the project designers.
  • Manage the preparation and issuing of RFI's to the Client
  • Evaluate and issue RFI responses
  • Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers and where necessary enter into correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements
  • Prepare cost evaluations and risk probability
  • Arrange Tender Handover meetings
  • Prepares commercial documents for tender handover to projects team

Skills and Experience:
  • HNC/HNC/Degree related to the business division.
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of planning and construction activities.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a high level of construction knowledge
  • You will be an ambitious individual, take pride in what you produce, have good communication, organisation and leadership skills and will enjoy being on site.
