Job description

My client is a large multi-disciplined principle contractor. They are looking to appoint a Planner to be an integral part of the Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Team. The role will be working on major projects, but with a requirement to play a key role in tendering future projects.

The company offer a range of services from Groundworks through to Bridges, with project values up to £60M

  • Major Earthworks & Enabling
  • Highways & Infrastructure
  • Structures ~ Retaining Walls, Bridges etc

The ideal candidate will be a Planner who has moved into that role from being on site and a qualified civil engineer. The role requires is someone who understands the logic and detail within a large civil engineering project and can subsequently drive the programme.

  • An advanced user of Asta
  • Able to create and manage high quality complex programmes for the safe delivery of major infrastructure & civils works
  • Proficient in managing change, cost and earned value within a schedule
  • Can assess and understand the impact of delay and disruption on the schedule and communicate accordingly in line with the contract
  • Administer comprehensive project controls systems to maintain the integrity of the schedule
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels and deliver relevant programme information to required timescales
  • Financial and commercial awareness with understanding of the cost control function
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (word, excel and PowerPoint)
  • Confident in producing monthly submission documentation to the client in line with contract requirements (JCT/ NEC).
  • To work quickly to produce programmes requested at a short notice
  • Confidently read drawings, specifications and contract information to allow review or production of programmes for incorporation into the schedule
