Job description

Key Experience
  • Relevant degree qualification and member of CIPS.
  • Previous experience establishing and managing of procurement processes on Major Projects within construction or civil engineering.
  • Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement and responsible procurement.
  • Good understanding of NEC 3 Contracts and experience drafting NEC 3 Subcontracts.
  • Proven experience of managing and developing teams.
  • Strong Stake Holder management experience, presentation and communication skills.


The Company & Project

Working for a leading international Contractor, with over 60 years' experience working on major Infrastructure Projects, you will be a key member in the delivery of the largest standalone infrastructure build project in Europe.

The Role

As a senior member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement of the Early Works; consisting of Piling, Design, Surveys, Enabling Works, Consultancy and Engineering agreements, implementing SMART targets, capturing value engineering and innovation, and driving continuous improvement.

Key duties will include developing and improving Procurement Procedures in line with the Project Execution Plan, establishing procurement best practice including category management and use of global suppliers, creating long term relationships with strategically important suppliers, setting up preferred supplier agreements, frameworks, and call-off agreements. Negotiating and agreeing contracts in liaison with commercial team, management and monitoring of supplier performance and contract KPI's.
