Job description

Experienced Required
  • Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification and experience.
  • Previous Subcontractor experience or direct delivery for a Main Contractor.
  • Previous groundwork and infrastructure experience on build projects or highways.
  • Sole responsibility for delivering projects up to £5,000,000.
  • Experience working on NEC & JCT contracts.
  • Able to manage jobs from expression of interest, through to Final Accounts.

A family run Regional Civil Engineering Contractor, with over 50 year's experience working on Residential and Commercial developments, highways, bridges and structures.

The Role

Reporting into the Civil Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from pricing through to handover, with values between £250k and £10,000,000. You will be able to deliver a portfolio of work, manage and mentor junior staff.

Key aspects of your role will include:
  • Procurement of suppliers and sub-subcontractors;
  • Managing projects from EOI and negotiating contracts;
  • Ensure robust Cost Control & Budget Management;
  • Compiling monthly/periodically application for payment information;
  • Developing effective working relationships with members of the project management team;
  • Identification and valuation of variations;
  • Implementation of change control procedures;
  • Measurement of work done and administration of site records;
  • Preparation and issuance of contractual notices;
  • Provide support with financial reporting for projects;
  • Understand contract requirements and assist with contractual correspondence;
  • Understanding of risk and identifying the implications of actions taken by yourself and the project team;
  • Managing and mentoring Junior staff;
