Job description

Established over 100 years ago, my client delivers over £150M of building projects across the UK and work in various sectors including, residential, commercial, healthcare, education and leisure. They have 5 offices across the UK and are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the North West.

Your first project is situated in Liverpool, you will take the lead commercially and deliver the scheme through to handover.

To be considered for this position, it is essential that you have experience in pre-construction and 2 stage tender experience and you must be capable of leading a team commercially.

Responsibilities include;

Pre-tender surveying, estimating, detailing subcontract scope of works, value engineering, risk analysis, organising sub-contractors packages, pre-contract meetings to finalising order documentation, monthly valuations (external and internal), monthly cost value reconciliation, cost complete reports, monthly preliminary analysis, sub-contractors monthly valuations/payments, variation accounts and final accounts.
  • Ensure all commercial matters and procedures are correctly dealt with
  • Attend pre-contract and design, pre-start and on-site progress meetings
  • Estimating costs and controlling all variations to contracts to ensure cost recovery
  • Procurement of materials and all sub-contract works, ensure the scope of works are clear
  • Negotiating prices and preparation of sub-contract works
  • Ensure sub-contractors meet selection criteria
  • Liaison with site Management, accounts and other members of the project team to obtain information and keep interested parties informed
  • Submission of monthly valuations and submission of applications/invoices
  • Preparation of management reports including cash flow forecasts and project margin reports
  • Negotiating settlements on cost related disputes
