Job description

Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Manchester

The Role

On behalf of one of my well-regarded clients I am seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor in the heart of Manchester.

The flagship project you will initially be working on will be a £40 million PRS High-Rise scheme, you will be responsible for the main surveying duties on this project reporting into the Commercial Manager.

The Construction Contractor I am recruiting for have won numerous awards over the last 10 years and have another strong 10 years in front of them with more awards likely to be won.

The organisation has various perks, some big like bonus schemes and some small like team breakfasts every Friday.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working on and leading New Build schemes £10M +.

You will have the skill set required to come in and ensure the job is performed to high standards.

You should be personable, enthusiastic, demonstrate excellent client skills with a pragmatic approach and the ability to perform well under pressure within a busy team.

Expected Duties Include
  • Working as part of the project team to ensure all commercial matters and procedures are correctly dealt with
  • Procurement of sub-contract packages
  • Agreement of the valuation of any variations
  • Preparation of sub-contract agreements
  • Checking of sub-contractors interim and final account applications and preparation of associated payments
  • Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
  • Dealing with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues
  • Liaison with site management, accounts and other members of the project team to obtain
  • Information and keep interested parties informed
