Job description

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a framework which is a four year programme of maintenance works to highway structures.

Minimum Requirement
  • Experience managing on NEC3 forms of contract
  • Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor or similar qualification and relevant experience
  • Experience working on civil engineering projects (either highways, Framework, structures or bridges)




The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspect of schemes, from the site start-up to the final account. You will seek to manage project costs and enhance value as part of the site team, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
  • Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • Feasibility studies of clients requests
  • Preparation of Subcontracts
  • Analysing sub-contractors quotations
  • Preparation and agreeing variation accounts
  • Preparation and agreeing of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
  • Providing evidence for resolution of disputes
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure




The Person

As the ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
  • Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor or similar qualification and relevant experience
  • Experience working on civil engineering projects (highways, framework, structures, bridges etc.)
  • NEC3 contract experience
  • Communication & relationship management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Ability to resolve issues in a friendly and efficient manner whilst maintaining excellent client relations
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office Suite
